Myself and Children’s Librarians Janice Hendry and Liz Rose had a great time reading through all your entries. There was an impressive 38 in total! We judged the entries on originality, quality of writing and emotional content, and came up with a list of winners and runners-up.

The results are as follows:

Age category (10-13 years): 1st Place: Lavinia Miller (age 13) Out of this World; runners-up: Aisha Shahid (age 13) Unknown Destiny and Georgina Dobson (age 11) House of Horror

Age category (14-18 years): 1st Place: Saba-Ikhlas Malik (age 14) The Other Me; runners-up: Katie O’Connell (age 14) Our Day Out and Neelam Shah (age 18) The Perfect World

A full write up, photos and winning entries will appear in the next issue of Your Croydon and on the Croydon Council website.

Well done everyone; and thank you Margaret Phillips (Croydon Council) for organising the competition!
